We are delighted to announce that the VII International Workshop on Proximity Data, Multivariate Analysis and Classification (VII WPDMAC) will be held on April 16–17, 2026, in the historic city of Salamanca, Spain.

This annual meeting is proudly organized by the Multivariate Analysis and Classification Spanish SEIO Group (AMyC-SEIO), a dynamic community of researchers dedicated to advancing statistical methods and their applications. Our group, comprising over a hundred experts from leading universities and research centers across Spain, focuses on fostering collaboration, sharing innovative methodologies, and promoting cutting-edge research in:

Venue and City

The 2026 Workshop will be hosted in the historic city of Salamanca, Spain.

The Venue: All scientific sessions will take place at the Edificio San Boal, a distinguished and central building of the University of Salamanca. This venue is located in the heart of the academic district, combining modern facilities with a convenient and inspiring historical atmosphere for our discussions.

The City: Salamanca is globally renowned as a vibrant cultural hub and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Home to one of the oldest universities in Europe, the city offers attendees an immersive cultural experience. We encourage you to explore its magnificent Plaza Mayor, the historic Cathedrals, and the university’s famous facades. This intellectual and historical setting provides an ideal backdrop for the high-level research presented at the VII WPDMAC.

What to Expect

 

The VII WPDMAC offers an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge, present ongoing research, and explore new perspectives in a highly stimulating, yet friendly, atmosphere. The program will feature contributions from international speakers, including our highly distinguished invited lecturers: José Luis Vicente Villardón, Michael Greenacre, Adelaide Freitas, and Francesca Condino.

In addition to rigorous scientific sessions and presentations, the Workshop provides an ideal setting to strengthen professional ties, establish new collaborations, and enjoy the historical and cultural charm of the city.
